Delta Shares DALI Human-centric Lighting at the 2nd DALI China Summit

The 2nd DALI China Summit, held in Beijing on April 9th, attracted more than 300 attendees, including leaders in domestic lighting such as academic professionals, designers, and industry experts. As a DALI Alliance member and major sponsor of this event, Delta shared its subsidiary LOYTEC’s application cases for DALI lighting control over the past 10 years. With abundant local practical experience, Delta ensured that DALI applications could create the maximum value for local customers, which was recognized by attendees.

This summit received the attention and support of the Beijing Lighting Association and industry experts. The General Manager of the DALI Alliance Paul Drosihn attached importance to this summit and expressed his determination to deepen the Chinese market. The event was organized by the First Design and DALI Alliance. The DALI Alliance members in China, first-class design institute experts and design masters were invited to discuss the latest DALI technology and changes in global market demand, and jointly promote lighting standards and quality.

Mr. Zhao Guochao, Product Director of the DGC Smart Buildings Division, shared that smart lighting control plays a pivotal role in healthy lighting. Regardless of the space size, technology, products, or solutions, the core concept is always oriented to truly serving people. Delta provides different DALI solutions for two types of application scenarios common in large-space and small-space buildings. For large spaces, such as factories and airports, independent DALI lighting systems can be used to achieve partition control. In terms of the stand-alone DALI lighting system, the complete DALI solution includes controllers, bus power supplies, sensors, panels, relay modules, DALI to 1-10V modules, etc., without the need for DALI luminaries and sensors with other protocols such as KNX. It brings the advantages of high efficiency, simple debugging and easy maintenance.

In addition, for small spaces like offices, hospitals and conference rooms, DALI can be a functional interface built into the room controller, and have interlocking applications by integrating third-party systems such as air conditioning. This achieves room automation and constant lighting for high efficiency and energy savings and also meets the needs of healthy lighting based on circadian rhythms. During the summit, Yili Group and Wuyi Park provided examples to demonstrate how the different offices or factories were given different lighting control strategies to meet multiple scenarios and reduce lighting energy consumption.

Director Zhao Guochao also introduced new DALI application technologies, including wireless Bluetooth positioning, voice recognition, and IoT applications. DALI has a strong ability to seamlessly integrate with the IoT. It can not only be backward compatible with existing protocols, but can also directly connect to the latest IoT protocol MQTT. It also supports various communication protocols in buildings and even connects various applications as a third-party integrated application platform.

The members of DALI Alliance Headquarters participated in the event via a recorded presentation and live video conference, which fully reflected the high importance of the forum to the lighting industry in China. The DALI Alliance introduced in detail that DALI-2 and D4i certifications have strengthened the interoperability of cross-supplier products in the past year. In the future, DALI will support wireless and IP-based connections, providing users with more choices and flexibility.
